The Smog got a makeover! Maybe it should be a called a Bog now?

In just a few days, our primary residence will be in the Cradle of Liberty! Of course, we won’t quite be there yet to fill our apartment with packed-to-the-brim boxes and furniture, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be excited! We have one more milestone to complete before then – boards. Specifically ortho boards. More specifically one of the hardest tests known to man, a test in which the taker is graded against the best and brightest top quartile of all physicians. Just a little pressure there. Spence has been studying, and I know he will pass without a problem, but you just can’t really mess around with an exam like that! So we’re hunkering down for the next two weeks in preparation. I’m working my last few days at the wonderful places here as Spence studies those days away, hoping they’re productive but quick so that neither of us (mostly him) go too crazy. It’s possibly an unfortunate and rushed way to say goodbye to Rochester, but we’ve had this town. It has been good to us. We’ve made friends and learned our trades and gone on many adventures in and around this city and state… And it’s time. Time for our next big adventure.

But first! The day after boards and my last day of work, we’ll set off for a week-long stop in glorious Wyoming. We’ll get to tour the new Imagine Acres where Joe and Rose Stanbury will host us with our children someday J. And we’ll also get to see some other family and friends that we love so much. It’s going to be great. The hardest part will be trying to get some time to ourselves when we will want to spend as much time with our people as possible! It will be one huge – maybe the most humongous ever – sigh of relief trip. We officially will be out of the bunker.

Next year will be professionally challenging for both Spencer and me, but we will be doing exactly what we want to be doing, and that makes a huge difference! We will also have a recreation dream world at our fingertips. And – NO KIDS to screw it up for us! (Just kidding, kids. Sort of. ;) But it is one last hurrah before we start thinking about having some little berries. We actually are getting a paycheck for doing what we like without too much other responsibility in an incredible city for a year. We are planning on epicacy. Not a word, no; but you get the point.

I really want to document as much of the year as possible on here, and I will certainly do my best! I think I still have a few stories to tell from earlier this year. Hopefully I’ll get to them, too.

Here’s to at least a full year of adventures with the
